An essential part of Floristic Dialog is creating a community atmosphere where you get to know your fellow students! For each program, we create a community Facebook Group where you can ask questions, post design images, and get to know other students!

We will once again conduct multiple co-hosted Lectures with Per & Hitomi, Individual Mentor Sessions with Per & Hitomi Individually, as well as Live Student Review critique sessions. We are always trying to find ways to improve this unique virtual format of floral education, with teacher-student interaction and engaging content front of mind.

INSPIRED BY NATURE Lecture
Join Hitomi & Per as they co-demonstrate in this 3hr dual lecture, discussing how each is inspired by nature to create new structure building mechanics & design techniques. Students will enjoy in-depth discussion on the topic and how it relates and is applicable to floral design, from day-to-day design work.. to larger installation designs. Per & Hitomi will also issue the ‘Inspired by Nature’ Student Assignment during this lecture, with Student Review the following weekend.

Join Per Benjamin in this 90min Lesson as he expands on the topic of ‘Inspired by Nature’ and how his observances applies to floral design. Students will learn how Per looks to nature to find inspiration for the way he designs, from creating Nature-inspired structures to applying a nature-inspired mindset to the way you flower.

Join Hitomi Gilliam in this 90min Lesson as she also expands on the topic of ‘Inspired by Nature’ and how her observances applies to floral design. Students will learn how Hitomi looks to nature to find inspiration for the way she designs, from creating Nature-inspired structures to applying a nature-inspired mindset to the way you flower.

INSPIRED BY NATURE Live Student Review with Per & Hitomi
Students will have the opportunity to complete the ‘Inspired by Nature’ Student Assignment and in (2) separate Zoom Sessions receive live, one-on-one feedback from both Hitomi & Per. There will also be an opportunity for students to submit for written feedback if they encounter a scheduling conflict.

Join Hitomi Gilliam as we shift to finding inspiration through the vast history and world of ART! Students will enjoy this 90min lesson as Hitomi dives deep into her knowledge of art and how it influence her own designs, from structure-building to use of the elements & principles of design!

Per & Hitomi will also issue the ‘Inspired by Art’ Student Assignment during this Mentor Session, with Student Review occurring on 11/10.

In this lecture, they will elaborate and further discuss how Art influences all aspects of floral design and how you can apply various art techniques to floral design. Students will enjoy in-depth discussion on the topic and how we can continue to look to outside influences to consistently and constantly level up our design skills!

Join Hitomi & Per as they continue the Floristic Dialog LEVEL UP series with Inspired by Interiors & Inspired by Venues. This segment will follow a similar structure as Part One with (2) Dual-Lectures and (4) Mentor Sessions divided between the two topics. Students will continue to enjoy in-depth discussions on both topics and how Interiors and Venues may not only influence your design styles and flower choices, but the techniques and mechanics you choose to use. This exciting conclusion to the program will not only give students the technical tools, but perhaps more importantly, the mindset to level up their own floral designs!
